I was about to complain that I’ve already paid my $80 for this year’s membership to Amazon Prime, but decided to go through the student sign up process anyway to see what would happen.

They cancelled my current prime membership automatically, refunded me $52.93 for the rest of the year, and started my Prime subscription completely over.
